Primary PE and Sport Funding Statement  2016

At Furze Infant School we recognise the value of Physical development, PE and sport. We provide opportunities for young children to be active and interactive and to improve their skills of coordination, control, manipulation and movement.

We offer a wide range of activities both within the curriculum and through extra-curricular clubs. We are proud of our fund raising events and inter house competitive events.

At Furze Infant School we employ the services of Premier Sport coaches to deliver both curriculum PE and sports extra-curricular and lunchtime sessions. Furze Infant school receives £9,270 per year and this is added to school funding to support us in facilitating further enhanced PE and Sports opportunities for all our pupils.

We aim to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision through well planned and competently delivered curriculum with the use of coaches/teachers where required. We also aim to increase participation in extra-curricular sport so that all pupils have the opportunity to develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are capable of.  These extra-curricular clubs include Dodgeball, gymnastics and multi-skills.

This provision is constantly under review and is monitored as part of our routine school monitoring processes.
